Pure Ocean™ - gourmet sea salt is produced especially for use in salt grinders and salt mills. The pure sea salt crystals grind easily and are less hydroscopic (moisture resistant) than mechanically dried salts. Pure Ocean solar sea salt is great tasting and the highest quality grinder salt available. These “all natural” sea salts are free of any additives or anti-caking agents.
Pure Ocean is Atlantic Sea salt that is harvested from the pristine blue waters of the coast of Brazil. The wind evaporated and sun purified crystals are then crushed and screened to size in Europe.

Pure Ocean - sea salt is produced through the natural evaporation of sea water. Salt water is captured in shallow ponds and allowed to evaporate by means of the sun and wind. During the process, a salt bed forms on the bottom of the pond. The salt is harvested, washed, screened and packaged. The typical salt crystal “crop” takes from one to five years to produce.
In natural sea salt production, the environmental conditions directly influence the salt quality through the quality of its main raw material - sea water. The sea water used to make Pure Ocean - sea salt is especially clean as it is collected from a mangrove area, an ecosystem that removes undesired elements from the water. This removal is accomplished through a filtration process carried by indigenous plants and shellfish.
